Brian Ashe - Massachusetts State Representative


Brian Ashe is State Representative of the 2nd Hampden District. He has held this seat for the past ten years and is currently seeking a sixth term. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Brian worked for the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department for sixteen years as a Unit Manager, managing a substance abuse unit. Brian also served on the Longmeadow Select Board for three terms, two of which he served as Chairman.

Brian grew up in Springfield and East Longmeadow. He and his wife, Sonja, have lived in Longmeadow for the past twenty-five years. They have two children, Tiernan, 20 and Kyra, 18, both college students.

Brian is a graduate of the former Cathedral High School and has a BS in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University. 

Over the years Brian has been active in coaching various sports as well as volunteering his time and efforts to many local charities and organizations. His efforts include Westfield State Foundation (Corporator), Dean Technical High School (Advisory Aboard), L.E.E.F. (Longmeadow Educational Excellence Foundation-Board Member), The Special Olympics, Pathlight and many more
